History's written by the winners, the powerful, but they're not the only ones with stories.

See, back in the day Heimdall went to visit representatives of the three classes of humanity: the kings and priests were given Odin as their god, and the farmers/merchants/middle class were given Thor as theirs, unto the ages of ages. But the poor were decreed lazy and stupid, fit only to be enslaved, and they were given no gods at all. And Loki disagreed with that, and took their care upon himself--lord of outcasts, lord of people who refuse to know their place--and that began his rift with the gods.

And the stories and prophecies were written by people with power. Whose world was he really going to end? Not the world, just theirs. His glorious rabble bursting forth from their various prisons, overrunning, overturning the social order, gods and giants and humanity all equal now, an end to the old familiar world and the start of something new. He never did believe in the superiority of gods, nor the inferiority of humans.

And Ragnarok's come and gone, and now he and Sigyn are alive and well again on the Enterprise [yeah, just go with it], freed from their old fates but not from their purpose: tear down the powerful, raise up the downtrodden, shake things up, and strengthen those who need it. He's still the Lord of Outcasts, and she's still the Lady of Comfort. They need people--not worshippers, just friends. People they can help, people who will appreciate them and keep them company.

tl;dr have a character you want to take on some sort of growth arc? They can shake up the old, transform into something new. Learn magic, gain powers, cast off old demons, and have a (possibly trashy) good time in the process. He excites, she soothes. That's what they do.

I'm up for pretty much anything with that, any canon, any genre, from comedy to very dark (not really into explicit sex scenes though, and with my work hours I'm not the quickest tagger around). If you're interested, let me know!
