He's a canon character, but he was only in one episode so there's a lot of room for AUish stuff. He's a police detective (homicide) who uses his witchcraft to help solve crimes so he's more or less a good guy if a bit morally gray. Since the community of witches in St. Louis essentially booted him out for doing the taboo (witchcraft to help mundanes/and falling in love with his familiar) I could easily say that James wound up in Hemlock Grove.

I don't have any really specific ideas so brainstorming is a plus. Maybe we could do something with him either being on the police force in Hemlock Grove dealing with the aftermath of the sheriff's meltdown and twigging to the truth of (some) of what was really going on? Might bring him around Pryce and Roman etc. Or he and Letha can strike up an unlikely duo type of friendship. I don't mind NPCing his familiar or having parted ways with her at some point previously. Fun point in common: having been in love with shape shifting human-canine/lupines! Oh, the potential bonding, haha.
