Yes! I would totally love that. <3 I've been around bakerstreet and actually just posted in the hurt/comfort meme which I feel would be the perfect setting for them considering the only way Karen would get to know her is if she was at the hospital.

Well obviously I'm down for plotting and I think it's awesome that you're playing Karen, but I also just have to say: Keep it up! Help me enable someone somewhere to play Foggy Nelson, ugh.

Anywho, I'mma tag you on the H/C meme, prob, once I figure what I want to do. I'd like it to involve Matt reminiscing about his dad, like you suggested. Because feels and character development, all in one.

Do you have headcanon for Karen's past? Are you drawing from comics influences? Or do you want it to remain shadowy and vague until canon gives us more to work with? Because that last is totally an option. Matt's really not one to pry.

I'm totally down for that! Karen would love to hear about his father, and the good thing about her is she has no idea about his past. Unlike those in Hell's Kitchen/the metro area depending.

I've been subtly pulling from the comics but my knowledge of them is soooo slim. So I've remained vague until we see where it goes on the show. But I do think she got mixed up in the wrong crowd and it took her down a road of drugs. They hint at that when Karen and Foggy are talking after she killed Wesley. Also Deborah on a podcast with her boyfriend talked about how she's an alcoholic, which is pretty obvious.

Right?? I think a lot of people see him as a levity character with little substance outside of being Daredevil's bro. But he has so much potential as a character! The way he was tempted by L and Z and the way Marci's foray into corporate corruption was a foil for what COULD'VE happened with Foggy? And I mean the fact that he's this sharp-witted mofo who's obviously capable of swimming with sharks, ... but he comes in such a shaggy, unassuming package?

Mine's pretty slim too but I'm working on that. I agree with all of these things.

PS if we do PSLs, we should have Karen pushing the envelope again, somehow. And delve into how from her perspective it probably seems like Matt Murdock isn't willing to go far enough to affect change. That'd be some nice tension. And it's always fun when Karen gets to be a nosy investigating badass, especially if she gets in over her head and has to be rescued by that masked vigilante dude.

He is so much more than being a bro for Matt. If he ever got his own show, I would totally watch it!

Idk if I could handle the older comics just because of the way the women are written in it, but I will have to check and see which ones Deborah read. I know Matt mentioned a few of the titles of the ones he read if you want me to find it for you.

Oh my god, yes! I am totally up for this. It will be interesting to get in that mind set, because from her perspective he really hasn't done nearly as much as she feels he should be. But from an outsiders he's done more than his fair share. And totally up for her being rescued by the dude in a mask~.

That's why I never really got into 'em, actually. Even the way male characters are written treating the women around them is hard to stomach. And even today, women in comics are disgustingly hypersexualized so it's hard to really give their stories a chance when it's obv they're drawn as fanservice to pervy teen boys. And Marvel's cinematic treatment of Daredevil wasn't much better before this Netflix thing, what with the movie version of Matt considering street harassment and felony assault valid flirtation techniques and Elektra seeming to LIKE it. Because what? He was "persistent"? Please. Anyway I digress. I'd love to hear Charlie(??)'s comic recs.

Yeah, it seems like she and Foggy are doing most of the heavy hitting from her perspective, for sure. We'll file that away for future use after I finish my canon review.

And ugh, this. I started to read the old Spider-Man comics and I just can't lol. I will have to retrace where I heard it, I think it was on a podcast. Will have to give it a listen again and let you know!

I'm all about some law shows. Especially if Glenn Close is in them. c: I'd kill to do a DD/Damages crossover, lmao. Or a DD/Gotham crossover, for that matter -- considering I think that if Matt hadn't lost his sight he'd have basically grown up to become a slightly-less-stoic version of Jim Gordon. If you pick up any Gotham chars upon watching, let me know!
