Due to the character and the situations in which he finds himself during the game there is a heavy amount of expectation that you at least understand the majority of what has happened within the canon that Ethan Winters comes from. I have beaten this game several times and have experienced different endings but my character is pulled from the "good ending" canon and can/will be played from any point within that canon (which mirrors other canons up until certain choices are necessary to be made which alter the course of gameplay).
That being said, I would absolutely love to play against any of the Bakers (Zoey and Lucas especially) as well as Mia, but would kill for the chance to find a Clancy Javis to play against. I would also really love for Ethan to meet other characters from the Resident Evil universe so long as they stick with time progression laid out in RE7s canon (2014-2017) or an agreed upon canon-break/merge/fusion/CRAU is reached. The latter is aimed at such RE characters such as Steve Burnside, Manuela Hidalgo, Albert Wesker, Brad Vickers, etc etc; the characters that are part of the overarching universe that includes games, books, and movies (cgi, la, animated).
I'm also not opposed to meeting other characters that aren't established in the RE universe but are playing in the RE sandbox (e.g. an OC who has been dropped into the RE world or a canon character from another franchise/universe that's been adapted to live in the world of RE, etc.)
At some point I'd like to try my hand at a panfandom type game so I'm also open to suggests of places to app.
