I would like to play many things!

An arranged marriage that had been set up since Evie was a child. They don't see each other often as they grow up, since they live in different countries, but every time they're in each other's presence, they don't like each other. Then the wedding comes, and she's sent to live in a place that is not a home with a man that she's sure that she hates. Slowly, they begin to realize that the other isn't a terrible person, they'd both just been put in a terrible situation and weren't given the choice to say 'this isn't want I want'. Total slow burn romance, they find reasons to keep coming together for these fleeting little moments that hint at happiness, courting after marriage, very slowly finding out how good they are for each other, and eventually falling in love.

But I also wouldn't mind playing a plot about class struggles. I'm a sucker for a forbidden romance, so whether she falls for someone above or below her station, I'm game. So, I'm definitely thinking about a lot of sneaking around, and trying to deny feelings, and the desperation that comes with trying to stay away from each other, only to fall back into each other's arms.

Or, in a similar vein, after the sudden death of her father, Evie had to leave her schooling to help out a mother who was already working, all while taking care of her youngest siblings. She can be a maid, a cook, a nanny who falls for a single father, or older brother, another servant, a tutor, townsperson, someone of a higher station. I'm up for discussion!

And then, there is the good ol' plot that revolves around her tutor, and they sort of bond over books, and their shared love of reading, and while there are feelings that crop up for the both of them, it's not very proper for a man in his position to court a woman in hers. He's afraid of losing her to one of the tons of suitors her father is throwing at her, but still, they never share what it is that they're feeling, they just continue to live in this limbo of longing, and sexual tension, which slowly gets all the more intense until finally, he can't take it anymore, and he insists on a meeting with her father, where he tells him everything that he feels, that he loves her, that he might not be a rich man, but he'd treat her right, and that he wasn't leaving without her come hell or high water, and maybe it doesn't happen right away, or maybe they run away together, or maybe they actually are able to be together and get married, but obviously there'll be a happy ending in there somewhere, and ... yes.

Or, I'd also like a slow burn romance with the man that she's made to marry. At first, maybe they're both uncomfortable and aloof, but they find some sort of common ground, which leads to innuendo, and stolen moments, touching, kissing, missed opportunities, and a whole lot of UST.

I would also love, love, love a courtesan verse for Evie. Sold into service at a high class brothel, she's spent years entertaining all sorts of patrons, never expecting to meet someone that they actually care about. Maybe she has a patron that returns time after time, and although she is reluctant to admit that she has fond feelings for him, eventually does. I am absolutely a sucker for a forbidden romance, and if this doesn't qualify, I don't know what will. I have so many horrible ideas of the hurt I can inflict in this verse, but ultimately, I would love for them to have a happy ending.

Or, I'm a slut for the good old favorites - an arranged royal marriage, a princess and her bodyguard, masquerade balls, hell, give me supernatural options or your ideas as well! I'll entertain them all.

I know this is old, and please ignore the fandom journal, but if you'd be open to playing against a Peter Dinklage faced OC, I'd love to plot with you.

This is what happens when I scroll through the comm until something catches my interest. That's when I look at the date of the post. I'll make a character journal once we settle on an idea, etc. Is there any one idea or line you were interested in more than the others?

I'd definitely be down for something with vague shades of Jane Eyre about it in terms of it being an unconventional match and something she didn't think she could do, falling in love with someone so much older and who isn't the ideal in terms of stature or looks. Whether that's via an arranged marriage or some sort of class struggle (and I could go either way with regards to which one of them is above or below the other's station) or even the tutor situation. Mix and match, I'm pretty easy as long as we figure out something we'd both enjoy kicking around.

Do you have a specific setting and time period in mind? Depending on the where and when, I'm thinking his family is very much of the landed gentry and maybe he's a second or third son who has the run of a smaller estate or manor house within the family holdings. Wealth and privilege make up for a lot of his shortcomings, but birth position also means he has a little more leeway in who he marries.

Ideas on how they met? Was she a nanny or governess to someone's children he'd know (one of his brothers or something like that), did she catch his eye at some sort of village fair or picnic? Via the local church, if she was on the land as he was passing through for something. I just want to get a bit of an idea of what their current situation is so I can flesh him out appropriately.

Just a round-about time period for social norms and expectations works for me. I'm slowly putting together his journal. I'm going with a background where he's something like the second son to an earl and while his elder brother inheriting a title and the lion's share of things, there's a country house on his mother's side the family deems 'appropriate' for him look after on his brother's behalf.

Let's go with her working in his brother's household, some larger estate than his own. I want to say she somehow becomes the wager in a game of cards one night in the smoking room, without her knowledge. He wins, he gets the comely young thing. He loses and...who knows, now he has to show up to every event of the season his brother's wife hosts.

It was only an idea, so no worries! I can roll with the formal offer of marriage. He needs a wife, someone that can help run a home the size of a country house with its modest staff while he's overseeing the proper management of the land. He hasn't had a lot of luck in the realm of courting (probably hasn't really put in a lot of effort, to be honest) but now he's of an age where the family's getting adamant that he think about it before he's forever branded a bachelor, which they don't want. She needs a husband, he needs a wife. No one intends any romance at the outset, it's just an arrangement which suits them both. The one boon for him is that she's not a complete stranger in his home, seeing as she's worked for his brother's family.
