For those who don't know this particular version, this Barbara is a little different than most versions, from what I can gather. For starters, she's got a lot of Stephanie Brown mixed in there, including the fact that she joined Batman at about sixteen. She hadn't even finished driving school yet.

For another, she predates Robin - she broke Batman into having a partner all by herself. She did this largely by showing up where ever he was no matter how often he ignored or refused her. Also, she saved his butt. Several times. (Woo.)

...And on top of that, there was Pamela Isley. Before Barbara became Batgirl, and Pam became Ivy, they were actually best friends. They protested against mistreatment of environment together, though in the end their methods... differed in extremity. They called each other "Red," and they just had fun.

In fact, when she first transformed, pretty much the first thing she did was ask Barbara to join her. But Barbara said no, and the show never really brought up that past relationship again. The closest it came was Ivy specifically sending Barbara a flower, meant to... take control of her brain and replace her. So not the nicest gesture, but hey - it's the thought that counts? At least she remembered who Barbara was.

Anyway, the real point is that the show never really went into their relationship, or the potential angst there. It wan't as if they were friends since babyhood or anything, but they had been friends... Barbara definitely cared about Pamela, even if that didn't successfully translate to Ivy.

I'd of course love to work with any cast mates. I'd love to see where CR can go. The show was cute and silly, which was nice, but as a children's show it didn't really go into the darker elements. Which kind of saddens me because - like with Ivy - there was a lot of potential there. For example, cat girl drawing Babs in and actually half-wanting to make Barbara her own sidekick in crime...

I admit I'm not that familiar with the comics, though I'm getting more so. But I'd also be interested in seeing what could happen when versions of the canon clash. This Barbara is quite different from the original, after all, from what I know. A bit quippier, a bit happier - her biological father is Commissioner Gordoner, her batman smiles at her on a fairly regular basis, and the only reason she put on this outfit was because of an honest desire for justice, and the knowledge that her over protective father wouldn't let her join the police academy.

As batfam go, she's ridiculously well adjusted. :|
