I see it possibly just being random encounters here and there when they end up alone. With Santana figuring but leaving it to Quinn to come to accept, and Quinn eventually doing so and first confiding in Santana.

I like that, and I can definitely see it. The only issue I see is how they end up seeing enough of each other, with Quinn in New Haven and Santana in New York. Maybe they visit back and forth?

Yes I can see that. When Quinn has time off I can see her showing up at their door lol and it's about a 2 hour drive each way as well. So it's doable a bit.
