Off and on, I keep toying with the idea that after Charlie burns the Shop down and escapes, and after she's temporarily reunited with the Manders, instead of her leaving on her own, Xavier finds her there and convinces her to go to the school. This means she's been there for a while. A few years, at the very least. Or she could be a relatively new resident. I'm good with either.

I really, really love the idea of her and John just not getting along because of how differently their abilities work. And, I will admit, I'm a huge fan of romantic ships born from animosity. I love the arguing and the sniping and the building of tension that way until one of them breaks and...yeah.

I even like the idea of them being friends at first, merely based on their abilities, until it's discovered Charlie doesn't need a source.

Yes, good. I kind of figure before things temporarily go to shit they get along ridiculously well considering they both have the same level of sassitide and sarcasm. So when things go bad it's a huge blow to them both. Because I'm a terrible human who adores this kind of thing.

I get what you're saying. They sort of just fit in together, become thick as thieves, and then John finds out that she's basically the improved version of him.

After that his ego will do all the work for any angst and drama we need.

Exactly. Exactly that. They're the kind of best friends who call each other names and tease the hell out of each other, but god damn is there trouble for someone outside of the two of them if they pull shit and actually upset the other.

They're totally the kind of friends who if one of them is hungry at oh-shit o'clock in the morning, they go get the other. And since I play Charlie with Insomnia and PTSD (because how the fuck can she come out of all that badness and not have her issues, right?) she most likely is either the one waking him up and not being sorry for waking his room mate, or she's for it.

And when the shit hits the fan she'll just be so confused. Just all "is this a thing boys do? I don't understand."

They cause so much trouble as friends. If someone fucks with the other, the next morning they wake with all their clothes torched. Then those two are awaiting punishment like: "What? Just because all their clothes burned up in a mysterious three AM fire, we're suspects? That's messed up, dude. It's profiling -- isn't that profiling, McGee? I don't see anyone else standing here accused. Maybe it was Bobby -- why isn't Drake up here on the chopping block too? Just because a guy can turn his whole body to ice doesn't mean he can't work a lighter."

Also he gives her the dirtiest looks every time she wakes him up.

When things go south, John will basically give her the silent treatment for a while before turning to nasty, snide remarks and trying to out do her when it comes to fire.

I'm so amused and so happy right now, you have no idea. I can so see all of this.

"Exactly. It's totally Bobby. Don't ever buy the whole goody two shoes all american boy next door thing. It's totally an act to get laid. It's gross."

I see her as being like...hyper reluctant to tell him about all of the drama and shit and how she came to be, because it's not something she's fully come to terms with and she's a huge fan of the saying "Safety's just danger out of place" so there's no point in her telling because she thinks she has to run again.

Even with a few years at the school under her belt at the school.

I do see her finally losing her shit at him and going "YOU WANNA BE BETTER THAN ME, JOHN?! SET FIRE TO THREE HUNDRED ACRES OF GOVERNMENT FACILITY AND EVERYONE INSIDE JUST BECAUSE SOME ASSHOLE TOOK THE LAST PERSON YOU HAD FROM YOU AND TELL ME HOW FANTASTIC YOU FEEL AFTER!"

And then be like "What no I didn't say that ppsh oh my god leave me alone i can't breathe or handle anything right now."

He'll probably just stand there staring at her for a long while before arching a brow and deadpanning: "That's an oddly specific challenge, McGee."

And that divides into two possible choices.

One, he'll finally talk to her seriously about everything.

Two, he continues to be an asshole and turns to walk away with: "Be right back, gotta go find three hundred and one acres of government facility."

She'll probably huff off pretty darn quick after and be super upset she even said anything. Hey do you have Plurk or aim?
