Your Muse: Leila Talbot & Lydia Moreau
Muse wanted: Dorian Gray (yes, THE Dorian Gray), Dracula, Leila'stwo brother (the last of the triplets), the Harker Kids (including Leila's boyfriend), The (Franken)Stein Kid(s), and the Hyde Kid(s). Not to mention parents and possibly a big bad or two. You know, like a demon version of Jake the Ripper. Or Elizabeth Bathory. Maybe a coven of witches.

There are many many things I blame for this. Penny Dreadful, my obsession with Jack the Ripper, my recent reading of The Madman's Daughter, and the now closed Jekyll and Hyde Club in Times Square (*sob*). During one of our many visits to the club, a friends of mine and I started talking about horror "bloodlines" and what we thought the modern descendants of some of the great names in horror would be like.
Which lead to me putting together the following families...
The Harkers (Dracula): Descended from Mina and Jonathan Harker, the Harkers carry "the blood of the Dragon". Mina's children were not actually Jonathan's, something she hid from everybody as she wanted to spare them their monstrous parentage. Still, Drac's blood is there, flowing through their veins and if tapped into could bring great power.
The Talbots (The Wolfman): Descended from Lawrence Talbot, they (obviously) carry "the blood of the Wolf". The lycanthrope gene runs in the Talbot family, though it hasn't showed truly for a generation or two. However, the family is still very VERY careful. It's why they're vegetarians. No use tempting the beast. While none of the children know of this "affliction" it's uncertain whether their father does. On a separate note, the Harkers and the Talbots have been friends for years and Leila is actually dating one of them.
The Moreaus (The Island of Dr. Moreau): Descended from Henri Moreau. There's a madness that comes with the Moreau blood. It hasn't been overly apparent since Henri, but it's there. Always lurking just below the surface.
The Steins (Frankenstein): Descended from Victor Frankenstein. Many Many years ago, the Frankensteins changed their name to simply Stein, feeling it would be easier to blend in that way. But name change or no, they can never escape their family's dark legacy.
The Hydes (Jekyll and Hyde): Descended from Henry Jekyll. Like the Frankensteins, somewhere along the way the Jekylls changed their name, feeling that Hyde fit in better. And like all the others, there's something lurking deep below the surface. A dual nature of sorts.
Yeeeeeah. Crappy descriptions are crappy, but hopefully you get the point. Each family carries something, though none of them know it yet. And aside from the Harkers and the Talbots, none of them have ever met. UNTIL they all receive a summons to a private club in New York. A summons sent to them by Dorian Gray, who has called them together because he needs their...unique talents to stop an evil far greater than any in their past.
IDK. I just like the idea of some modern horror that harkens back to the greats. And I have like 10,000 thoughts on the character dynamics, especially when it comes to Leila and her boyfriend's relationship.
So yes. Come. Join me. And feel free to ask any and all questions cause answers, I probably have them.
