So after seeing Spy and listening to the Something Rotten soundtrack on repeat, my brain somehow merged the two ideas to come up with this. G.L.O.B.E. - an international espionage organization (like SHIELD mixed with MI-6) based out of England. Their codenames, their cells, even the organization itself...everything is based off of Shakespeare's work.

Also, all the field agents are female. It's the handlers and the behind the scenes crew that are male.

Right now, besides Ophelia here, only Beatrice (Much Ado) and Witch #1 (Macbeth - Using Dylan O'Brien) have been claimed. So come. Join the insanity.

Anyone and everyone. I mean I'm a little partial to the Hamlet crew cause of Ophelia here, but I am all about whoever people want to bring.

Are the characters actual adaptations of Shakespeare's characters, or are they OCs who happen to have been assigned Shakespearean names based on their personalities (or for some other reason?)

More the second, but I think there's definitely a correlation. After all, you always seem to get a name that fits you.

So like Romeo as a handler is probably totally heads over heels for his agent, Juliet. While everyone around them is like OH. OH NO. THIS CANNOT END WELL.

Stuff like that. Little hints and allusions. (If that makes sense).

Yep. Seemed the easiest way to organize people. The cells (divisions/teams/whatever) are named for the different plays.

That sounds awesome. I'll try to think up some characters and see if anything from Hamlet jumps out at me.

I accidentally made a Kate instead. Thinking along the Hamlet lines--I'm nervous about committing to playing a handler, but do you think there could be some other support-role position for a Laertes?

This sounds like fun! And I just happen to have this leftover grifter/con-artist from an old group PSL that I can adapt for this. I'm thinking of going with Rosalind and As You Like It, since it has the whole 'all the world's a stage' thing and acting is one of her main tools.

Wooo! Which means her handler would be Orlando. I'm thinking she may have gotten into some trouble in England while freelancing and was recruited for G.L.O.B.E. so she could probably be new-ish, and still adjusting to the whole handler thing.

Annnd in case anyone is looking at this and thinking of picking up Orlando... snark and banter is my favorite thing in the world to play. I don't really have much of a preference for PB aside from tall-ish (at least 6'), around her age (within 5 - 7 yrs, let's say), and nicely built.

I feel like this guy here could be adapted really well into an Orlando, if you like? Wittier than he looks, so I think he'd have Orlando's doofier side while also being able to handle the banter, and he's even got an evil-ish brother. Plus, he's 6'4" and pretty ripped. :)

Sounds good! We can do a first meeting thread sometime, or just handwave that part and hash it out through PMs and jump right in. I'm good with either one.

Okay, I lied about the pb. But! Viola is a world class thief, who partnered with her brother until he vanished during a heist gone south. He is older and probably a fraternal twin. She's fairly good at disguises that blend in with her marks and a capable hacker, but nowhere near the tech genius of presumed-dead brother.

Her handler will be Orsino. I kind of see him as wealthy, older, smart, fit and seemingly full of himself.
