Crosscanon Shenanigans Requested!
Your Muse: Rogue / Marie D'Ancanto
Muse wanted: MCU & Crosscanon
Community: Bakerstreet, also PSL/Museboxing
Fandom: X-Men: Days of Future Past
Canon or AU: Canon to DoFP, then AU
Medium: Movies w/ comic flavor
Contact via: Comment here, PM, or
taintedcrimson
My Rogue is an AU version from immediately post Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut, in which she plays a role in changing the timeline and then through a fluke power incident ends up in another time/dimension. She is stuck in this verse and has to build a new life while recovering from her experiences in the Sentinel War.
I'm always interested in playing her off some MCU folks and have plenty of ideas for doing so, especially with Steve Rogers. Would also love to have her run into the MCU TV folks, such as Matt Murdock.
For crosscanon, I am always up for trying things. I've played her off a Wraith from Stargate: Atlantis, Jack from Torchwood, Daryl from The Walking Dead. Even if I'm not familiar with the verse, I am usually willing to do research and give things a try. Would love to find a Leonard McCoy from either Star Trek continuity, perhaps an Oliver Queen from Arrow, a Dean Winchester from Supernatural, Lucifer Morningstar from Lucifer... Anyone you want to throw at her.
Note: I do enjoy crosscanon shipping, but am totally fine with just having Rogue pal around with folks and gather a new friend-family. She'd be happy to play wingwoman for any of these guys, honestly.

I can play Steve anywhere in canon, although my AoU is probably kinda shaky (I've seen it numerous times and I'm still overwhelmed by the whole thing).

No pressure! But HI THERE, yes, absolutely interested! So, ideas. I enjoy integrating Rogue into the MCU (because X-Men should be part of it!), though not necessarily something so extreme as shoving her onto Team Avengers - I like little integrations that can explore character dynamics. I've got ideas for going the more typical superhero route, like both HYDRA and the Avengers/SHIELD notice when she arrives in the universe, and everyone wants to "offer" her a job. Or there are ideas for a slower route, like she moves into Steve's building and is all 'hey neighbor', but completely unaffiliated with SHIELD and co at the start. Could be a combo, where she's recruited to work for new!SHIELD but sticks with a non-field job because she's not ready to be back out there, but she gets to know Steve and the rest.
Whatever way we go with it, Rogue will be the type to keep busy. She'll work out a lot to get her strength back after being imprisoned for so long, she'll volunteer with veteran and refugee organizations, she'll do everything she can to be useful to the people around her (due to old family issues). And there will be a lot of guilt over what she was made to do, while being completely determined to make the most of her new life.
I've played right from her arrival into the MCU and also from a bit after, just assuming some things, and I'm down for either. I'm also completely up for going in pretty much any direction. Action, slice of life, angst, romance. I'm up for normal shipping or friendshipping, I can see things going both ways and will run with whatever you prefer. And I totally get what you mean with AoU, and I'd be fine with playing before that point.
Basically, I've been mulling over ideas for Rogue and Steve interactions for months and just haven't really found many interested Steve players along the way.

After reading your ideas and thinking about it, I think a really good spot time-wise for her to come through would be right after Avengers. Steve is quickly catching up with the world, but he still feels kinda disconnected, and definitely disillusioned. Maybe they meet while both volunteering somewhere (because as much of a fanfic cliche as it is, it's totally something Steve would do). I prefer the slower route idea, gives them both a chance to connect with someone who can sympathize with the things they're going through, without worrying about outside forces like SHIELD/Hydra having an agenda.
Slice of life is a fave of mine, haha. A little angst is good, so long as it's not one big long trainwreck of tears (Steve can be an angst-machine if I let him, lol). I can also see them being either friends or something more - but Steve at least is still holding on to the past, so if they did end up together romantically, I think it would be a kinda slow build, but I'd be open to it.
So, yeah. I'm definitely interested! But, I do have a kinda disclaimer: sometimes I can be slow in responding, depending on whether I had to work or not. I work nights, at a pretty demanding job, so sometimes I just wanna turn my brain off. And I tag at really weird/random times of the day and night (depending on when I can sleep). But I try to tag back as promptly as possible.

It's so nice to hear that someone else likes slice of life, you have no idea. I see so many people who are all about the action, which I can get behind sometimes, but my heart is with the slow building of relationships of any kind and in the kind of moments that don't make it to the big screen because they're not 'exciting' enough. And we can just see where things go as far as anything romantic is concerned - if it happens, it happens, and if not, no big deal. Rogue will be dealing with constructing a new life for herself and still grieving the loss of her husband during the war (I have a lot of headcanon for the many years between X3 and DoFP), so that makes total sense for her too.
Slow, random-timed tags is never an issue! Really, never. I've been doing PSLs with a couple different people for months now and sometimes all we get is a tag or two in a week and I still adore the stories we've crafted more than I can possibly say. Completely worth it.

I am not so good with the action, haha! And while I love playing Steve, and have
over-analyzed him to deatha great grasp on his character - a master strategist, I am not. I can appreciate it, but I'm really not good at writing it. I totally agree, I love all of the 'little' moments that you know are in the movies, or between movies, but you just don't get to see. (Two of my fave scenes from AoU were the after party scene with Thor's hammer, and at the end when Tony and Steve were discussing whether Vision being able to wield it counted, and an elevator not being worthy.) Dorky, silly stuff like that gets me every time; and quiet moments of... not quite angst, but heavy introspection, and connecting with each other are great. Basically, anything that happens to "normal" people. So, I'm really excited to do this! (I think I said that already, but I'm even more excited now!) So, the question is - how do you wanna set this up? I've been out of the RP game for several months, haven't looked at bakerstreet in aaaages... Do you wanna start with a PSL, or...? (figuring out how to start is always the hardest for me, lol - everything else is gravy.)

There are no words for how excited I am about this.
I may have just made something resembling a pterodactyl screech.I think starting with a PSL would be easiest, get things started off between them, then we can always hop around memes or just steal ideas to play out. I can throw up a starter in my musebox if you'd like. Want to start off with their first meeting? Any preference on where they might be both volunteering? (With Rogue's background, could easily see her working with veterans, refugees, kids, the elderly - especially those who survived the Holocaust, thanks to the Erik in her head.)

Musebox starter sounds great! My first thought for volunteering was naturally 'veterans, duh' - but then I thought, would Steve really wanna surround himself with more war? Not just that, but veterans who fought for things he doesn't really understand anymore. I can see some humorous things happening if he volunteered with the elderly though - "such a good listener, you really understand what I'm talking about!" "...yes, sir."
I can't stop giggling, just thinking about it.So, elderly, with of course some veterans in there, but not a vet-exclusive community, y'know? (I'm trying to think where specifically they'd be volunteering - I work at a nursing home, you'd think I'd know about the elder community, but we don't have volunteers at my workplace, really.) Maybe some kind of event/gathering for a retirement apartment building - older residents, some shut-ins, but still basically able to care for themselves. Sorry, I'm just throwing ideas out there - please feel free to write whatever you want!no subject
I love it! I can absolutely see it. I threw up a thing here - kept some stuff vague, so we can build as we go, but I'm of course happy to change anything! I'm flexible when it comes to plotting and world-building, and I don't offend easily, so never be afraid to let me know if something's weird or just doesn't work for you.
