They never actually crossed over in the Suicide Squad (for one thing Harley Quinn didn't exist back then) but Oracle literally made her debut in the late 80s in the Ostrander/Yale Suicide Squad comics shortly after The Killing Joke. Would you be interested - and if so did Harley have anything to do with Barbara being crippled in The Killing Joke? (And if not, did Joker boast about what he did to the Commissioner's Daughter to her?)

I do enjoy some of the connections that Birds of Prey makes between these two.

I don't think Harley would have had anything to do with what Joker had did in The Killing Joke. But yes... Joker would have boasted about it.

That might be a connection between them. Joker hurt them both.

If we're going for an AU Suicide Squad Oracle this would be less than a year after The Killing Joke. There's also the outside possibility that Harley might even recognise who Babs used to be under her mask; at least comic Harley is pretty perceptive.

And I'm thinking as an opener we use the way 'Amy Beddoes' was introduced to the Suicide Squad; Amanda Waller trying to rescue her sometimes irritating hacker when a villain went after her. In this case The Wall goes to one option and sends Deadshot to a second and Harley to a third (and of course the Harley choice is the right one).
