Marvel AU anyone?
Your Muse: AU Steve Rogers/Captain America (see here)
Muse wanted: Steve would love to have an AU Peggy. Also looking for Bucky and any other Marvel muses you wanna throw at me. Howard could be cool, too. I'll even take modern ones if you wanna AU them into this. So Tony, Natasha, Bruce, Thor.. any of them would be awesome. Pretty open to other ideas, too.
Community: A PSL community? Maybe doing some SWS stuff first is a good idea.

So basically I have this idea for an alternate (probably darker) Marvel universe, set during the 1950s with the Cold War as a backdrop.
The idea is that toward the end of WW2, Steve Rogers goes rogue (the serum didn't work out quite like it was supposed to, see his bio) after he gets fed up with the American government's refusal to let him fight. He defects and joins HYDRA, using all his new resources to sabotage the Nazi war effort, and also damage the Russians because he recognizes communism will be the next big threat to America. At the end of the war, though, the Americans send a strike team to kill him and take out HYDRA, partly at the request of their Soviet allies, and partly because they made Steve into a super soldier in the first place and feel they should clean up their own mess. The strike is successful, and Steve's HYDRA base destroyed, but his body is never found....
Steve returns in the mid-50s, having survived the attack, and puts back together what is left of HYDRA. By now America's Cold War with the Russians is in full swing. So Steve plans to remove the American government and install himself as leader, mostly because he thinks he's the only one who can defeat the Soviets, but also because he wants to get back at all those government officials who used him as a puppet and a lab rat instead of letting him fight for his country. He thinks the US has no chance in the hands of the men who run it. Of course, he also plans to begin a covert war against the Russians, too.
So that's basically where our plot starts, but flashbacks are lovely, too. And like I said, would love to have a Peggy for Steve, though the circumstances of them getting together is something we can work out, as his her backstory.
In this universe I also imagine Bucky actually being the one trying to stop Steve from achieving his goals, which I think could be interesting considering Bucky's part in my Steve's backstory. Winter Soldier stuff is welcome, too :D
And, like I said, I'm pretty open to anyone else. If someone wants to AU a Tony, Natasha (for Bucky, perhaps? Yeah, I ship them \o/) or other modern Avengers or Marvel muses into this setting, that's fine with me. It's also up to you whose side they wind up on.
