Do you like cranky boys on hectic life journeys in need of some serious R & R? Do you like cliche revenge quests that turn out to be far more damaging than initially anticipated? How about boys who could vaporize a city block at the drop of a hat? Boys who struggle with their lot in life, their place in society, and can't help but feel lost when looking toward the future or thinking about their childhood dreams? Boys who are irreperably damaged by the choices they've made, forced to actually deal with the consequences of their actions in every context? Boys who are left terrified by the prospect of trust, intimacy, friendship, and love? Boys who are touch-starved and yet loathe being touched? Boys with scars, tattoos, freckles, and a sense of fashion rooted in simplicity? Boys who would give their lives to ensure the safety of everyone around them, even people they hate? Saryn's lived a harsh and depressing life, but who hasn't? His story is hardly unique, layered with revenge plots and betrayals, stained with blood, sweat, and tears, and all of that is exacerbated by an inability to relinquish guilt, accepting too much and holding onto it for far too long. He is imperfect and wounded, foolish and reckless, but he is genuine and honest, generous and gentle, and he cares so much about the people in his community, he's done everything in his power to uplift all those who suffer from collateral and the problems resulting from it. He aims, now, only to protect and serve Japan, to bring villains and corrupted heroes to justice, and find atonement in the second chance he's been given. He doesn't want to see anyone go through the same horrible experiences he has gone through. He doesn't want to see anyone lose their mother, father, brothers, sisters, lovers, or friends as he has, and he'd do anything to prevent it - with and without anyone's help.
