In a meme recently the scenario came up of Shelby knowing Dominic Toretto, and Dom having referred someone to her for help. The more I thought about it, the more I'm thinking it would make an interesting AU for Shelby's backstory, since coming from a racing family it would make just enough sense for her to have run in Dom's circles early on in her life, likely when she was a teenager. Probably before the events of the first F&F movie.
I'd like to find a Dom or members of his crew that perhaps Shelby runs back into, now that she's taken up street racing. I don't want this to be a romantic line and I don't see Shelby joining up with the crew for anything necessarily (though she might under the right circumstances). I'd just like to see them reconnect, possibly become friends again, and through their catching up get a chance to explore who Shelby was before she became a career driver and how spending time with Dom and his team might have affected her. I wouldn't be averse to also doing flashback scenes either.
I'm also always open for Need For Speed canonmates, too.
